Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in Bahrain, During Regional Counterattacks.

Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is uncertain and the United States has yet to issue a statement.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - reported they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.

The statement noted wreckage fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
